John Sheridan

Hello! I am a first-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Religious Studies. I have taught and I am currently teaching Rhetoric 1030, which is a lot of fun. I study religion in America broadly. This includes both historical and contemporary religion in America. My main research focuses on an Anabaptist communal group called the Hutterites. The Hutterites live in colonies of about 100 members and hold their goods in common. This means that members are not paid for their work, but still work very hard for the community as a whole. I find this, and many other things about the Hutterites, fascinating. I am a big fan of Marvel comics and movies. In my non-work time I like to watch Marvel movies with my wife, Vivian and read comics. I also enjoy running, hiking, and biking.
